All residents of Retama Village enjoy exclusive use of the million-dollar Retama Club, located at the entrance to the neighborhood. The club calendar is full of activities from card games to fitness classes.
Retama Village is unlike any other community in South Texas. Experience unmatched luxury, the freedom of a lock-and-leave lifestyle, and the friendship and camaraderie of a neighborhood of active adults just like you!
Bentsen Palm features a system of more than 10 miles of hike and bike trails that connect homeowners and visitors to nature. Thoughtfully designed to get you close to the area’s many species of birds and wildlife, our trails are one of the most popular attractions at Bentsen Palm.
The trail begins at the World Birding Center Headquarters parking lot at Bentsen-Rio Grande State Park. It continues across the entrance to Bentsen Palm Village RV Resort and along the front of Retama Village and Tanglewood. Next, the trail takes you past beautiful South Texas farmland, over a new bridge across the Mission Main Canal, and then continues for a mile and a half between the canal and scenic native habitat – ideal for spotting wildlife and birds. The final stretch of the trail winds through South Texas brush and prairie before ending at the Mission Nature Park.
